Ingredients

  • 2 large heads broccoli, cut into florets
  • 1½ tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, finely minced
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon fine sea salt, or to taste
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 1½ tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted pumpkin seeds or sliced almonds, toasted

Directions

  1. Heat the oven to 425°F. Line a large sheet pan with parchment paper.
  2. Toss the broccoli with olive oil, garlic, pepper and salt. Spread in a single layer with some cut sides touching the pan.
  3. Roast for 18–22 minutes, turning once, until the edges are browned and the stems are tender-crisp.
  4. Transfer to a serving dish and toss with lemon zest and juice. Finish with the toasted seeds or almonds.
